Our school's mission is to excel in education. Our philosophy of teaching, based on the belief that all students have the ability to learn, is clearly documented.The school offers a broad, balanced and well resourced curriculum using an integrated approach to learning in the eight key learning areas of Mathematics, English, The Arts, Science, Technology, Languages Other Than English (French), Studies ofSociety and the Environment, and Health and Physical Education. The school gives prominence to the Literacy and Mathematics curriculum areas in the belief that they provide basic essential skills.The Early Years literacy strategy and Reading Recovery have been implemented in the school. The eight key learning areas are supported and enriched by active camp and excursion programs and generous classroom based computer facilities. The school’s curriculum programs are designed to encourage active learning and cater for individual student differences. Our programs encourage the development of cooperative student work practices, student independence and self-discipline. An active Junior School Council operates in the school and a ‘buddy’ system supports the younger students whilst providing the opportunity for older students to shoulder responsibility Warrenheip Primary School has a caring and professional teaching staff who are readily accessible to both parents and students.
